Luna sat at her work desk writing away a list of things that needed to be fixing about the city. Most of it had to deal with the recent loss of the Garrison just south of the Harbour. Most of what could be saved was placed haphazardly throughout the House of Dragon Hill in town. The dining hall was turned into a mini war room half way through the day before it was transformed just before dinner and the training yard was crowed with more people than it could handle. With only one archery lane, there was barely enough room between the tournament ring and the side yard for practical sparing. The House was not designed for this kind of foot traffic. It was meant as a way station for it's Garrison members before they go on duty and for the city folk to seek help when they need a members expertise. For instance Baronet Garret Thornwood was already out on an errand to slay a dire wolf terrorizing the countryside.
Amongst the House items, Luna had several notifications to post on the notice boards at the square. She was also waiting for Nocturnus to show his face. The caravan that went up to visit the Queen to celebrate with her this time of celebration had already come back but she had not heard from her beloved since then. His office and room upstairs were untouched since he left. Her hopes were that he was within his Keep.
Luna let out a heavy sigh once her list was done. She stood then suddenly sat back down cradling her head as it throbbed in pain.
...A dirty white dire wolf easily 200 pounds crept towards a pile of lamb meat. "I hope it enjoys it's last meal of sheep," Garret Thornwood spoke. He raised his bow and whispered "swift death to those who oppose me" and the arrow was loose. The arrow flew true and hit it's mark just behind the front legs, right behind the shoulder a perfect shot for a clean kill. The beast took the arrow like it was thorn in it's side and immediately turned to face Garret. It charged. It jumped onto Garret knocking him down with a thud. "Damn this thing is big" as he grabbed it's jaw to keep it from biting - his armor taking the brunt of it. Daggers appeared and the creature was stabbed several times before it finally let out it's last breath. "I take this life in the name of Ehlonna"...
When Luna came out of the vision, she found herself on the floor of her office, her heart about to leap out of her chest from the pounding. Her second sight was still something that she was getting used to. She sometimes lept to the distant future or just far enough to where she could predict withing seconds of it happening. She never knew where her gift would take her. She found her list beside her. She picked it up, climbed back onto the small stack of books that allowed her to still use her desk and wrote 'Armor check for Thornwood when he returns - Aldfalric'.
